Prominent personalities and entrepreneurs of the Chinese business community in the Queen City of the South took part in an annual gathering at the grand lobby of the five-star Marco Polo Plaza Cebu (MPPC).
Indefatigable GM Hans Hauri, Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, Chinese Consul General Zhang Weiguo, Honorary Consul of Portugal Samuel Chioson and Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Filomeno Lim, together with other special guests, led the traditional Yee Sang (appetizer salad dish) tossing ceremony that is believed to bring in abundance, prosperity and good fortune. The auspicious gathering also had guests enjoying the festive lion and dragon dance and the very popular Chinese dishes and delicacies prepared at the Café Marco.

A heavenly destination
The breathtaking island paradise of Boracay has been home to many unforgettable parties and special events. The picturesque island recently provided a perfect backdrop as Boracay Regency Beach Resort and Convention Center, the first triple-A rated resort along the white stretch of Boracay, graciously treated guests to an elegant gala dinner by its expansive beachfront.
Amidst the cool sea breeze, families, couples and lovers thoroughly enjoyed the culinary masterpieces of local and international cuisines served by the resort’s efficient team. The splendid evening also had everyone delighting in the superb musical entertainment and the colorful fireworks display.

An auspicious afternoon
Patrons and special guests of the Edsa Shangri-La, Manila recently gathered for an auspicious afternoon.
The top-notch Shangri-La team led by GM Henry Lee and resident manager Maggie Garcia graciously treated everyone to an afternoon of prosperity and good fortune. A traditional dragon’s eye-dotting ceremony kicked off the program followed by a colorful lion and dragon dance at the hotel lobby. An authentic Chinese spread at the Summer Palace restaurant followed to the delight of all the guests.

For luck and prosperity
The grandest lunar fete outside Binondo was staged once more at the elegant Mandarin Oriental, Manila.
Leading the fabulous crowd were renowned geomancer Joseph Chau and debonair GM Mark Bradford. A traditional Tibetan ritual, the dotting of the eyes of the lions and dragon, a stunning performance by The Black Theater and the debut of Chau’s 2012 forecast book were among the highlights of the evening.
Seen enjoying the festivities were Vice President Jejomar Binay with wife Dr. Elenita Binay, Moet Hennessy Philippine chief representative Olga Azarcon and philanthropist Rosemarie Arenas, among others.
Kudos, too, to Mandarin Oriental F&B director Chico Angeles for a wonderful program and fabulous décor!
