Celebrating beauty

THE PEPPER MILL - Pepper Teehankee -

It was a grand celebration of beauty when Clinique held a huge party to launch its new line of makeup products in the Philippines.

The event started with a champagne brunch for the press at White Space, Makati City. At night, the culminating party unveiled Clinique’s new and upcoming makeup products that captured women as works of beauty and art  Lid Smoothie Antioxidant 8-Hour Eye Colour, Quickliner for Eyes Intense, Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm and Almost Lipstick.

Clinique Asia Pacific VP and GM Paul Slavin said, “We at Clinique take pride not only on our skin-care expertise but also in our colors. Did you know that if you stack every single lipstick we’ve sold worldwide, one on top of the other, it amounts to 650 Empire State Buildings?”

Clinique Philippines brand manager Kaye Fidelino added, “Clinique’s four new makeup products are sure to be game-changers for our makeup line. The colors are more intense and vibrant  so whether you want a natural daytime look or a more dramatic nighttime look, Clinique has got every woman covered. Plus, our makeup is infused with ingredients that have skin-care benefits. What more could a girl want?”

Joey Mead hosted the night party, which kicked off with performances from acrobatic and aerial dancers. The brand also featured a makeup show that presented daytime, evening, dramatic and bridal looks for today’s Filipinas. It was led by Paolo Maranan and other brand consultants. The event also showed behind-the-scenes shoot of models as they were being prepped using Clinique’s new makeup.

The launch also featured four upcoming Filipino artists with their own interpretations of the theme You Are a Work of Art. Kasey Albano, Valerie Chua, CJ da Silva and Jin Joson each showcased the Filipina as a work of beauty and art with Clinique makeup.

Summer’s exciting outdoor activities

Summer is near and so is the launch of the off-road triathlon event, the Vaseline Men XTERRA Off-Road Triathlon Series. The event is being presented by Vaseline Men, a men’s skin-care brand in the Philippines, and Sunrise Events, Inc.

In the Pang Rave Run, triathletes had to negotiate a demanding trail run in 21K, 10K and 5K categories, all with very exciting cash prizes. In Cebu, the Vaseline Men XTERRA Weekend will showcase trail run and triathlon races that will surely test any athlete’s strengths and limits.
