Not all laptops are created equal. More than form and function, laptops are gauged by virtue of their speed and performance.
Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp. (SEPCO) recently launched its finest Series 7 Chronos notebook PC at Time in Makati City. SEPCO business unit director Eric Sulit, business adviser James Kwon, product managers Hannah Francisco and Beiai Torres, marketing communication manager Juno Limjap-Sison and Intel’s market development manager Wowie Wong welcomed the guests.
Series 7 Chronos has an Intel Core i5 processor in an extremely thin and compact aluminum casing. It captures ExpressCache technology that gives it an extra 8 GB massive storage. The Series 7 Chronos also incorporates Samsung’s latest “Max screen” technology, which enables users to experience an extra inch of immersive viewing with the 15” display.
Sulit commented, “Following the success of our stunning Series 9 Notebook, we are expanding our premium notebook range. With the Series 7, we have matched powerful new features with Samsung’s design and engineering excellence to produce a truly special product. Our goal is to create notebooks that constantly inspire and enrich customers’ lives. The Series 7 Chronos represents the peak of personal computing.”
Samsung’s Fast Start sees the PC ready to use in just two seconds — a 33 percent time improvement on previous models — while Quick Boot sets the notebook from cold in just 24 seconds.
The notebook is enhanced by its extended battery life of up to eight hours on a single charge. Samsung’s Battery Life Plus technology keeps 80 percent of the cell’s original capacity in a life cycle thats last up to 1,500 charging cycles. This ensures that the battery can last up to five times longer than other notebooks.
Guests were encouraged to try the Series 7 Chronos while experiencing a speed race game prepared by the Tuason Racing Team, headed by car racer and host of the evening JP Tuason. Wowie Wong and Juno Limjap–Sison were the top winners of the game. Carlo Tirona of C! Magazine and Emerald Ridao of GMA Online went home with one Samsung Chronos 7 each.

Shu Uemura revealed its new collection in collaboration with world-renowned Wong Kar Wai at Opus Lounge at Resorts World Manila. Joey Mead, together with Shu Uemura Philippines’ brand manager Nina Solano, hosted the event.
Guests were shown behind-the-scenes footage of Wong’s exclusive short film for Shu Uemura called “Mask.” The brand’s retail and education manager Lyra Importante-Prieto presented the exciting products included in the collection: brush set, eye shadow palette, lipsticks, blush on and cleansing oil, all marked with Mask visuals and Wong’s signature. Two of the brand’s finest talents John Pagaduan and Patrick Alcober gave a live makeup demonstration on how to use the collection.
Hennessy made sure that drinks flowed as freely as the chitchat among the guests. They were treated to a full screening of the two-minute film that can be described as highly stylized and visually unique — words that best describe what Wong Kar Wai and Shu Uemura are all about.
Shu Uemura’s top makeup artists Patrick, John, Sharon Soledad, Angie Cruz, Angelique Dinglasan, Mickey See and Omar Ermita showcased their talent and creativity through a live makeup exhibit. Different looks that can be achieved using the hot collection were demonstrated with the help of the muses like Pauline Prieto, Fatima Rabago, Jasmine Maierhoffer and Vanessa Matsunaga.
