Happy birthday, Louie!

Of course, Nuvo was packed that night!

What else would anyone expect if the original king of Manila’s nightlife Louie Ysmael was celebrating his birthday! Friends and loyal Nuvo customers trooped to the popular bar and restaurant and gave their best to Louie.

The Mezzanine, ground floor and al fresco area of Nuvo were all packed. Canapés were served and the bar was open for the guests! Events and PR girl Cacay Moras helped Louie organize his party.

Friends gathered around the birthday boy when he blew the candles on his birthday cake. And when asked for a speech, Louie just shouted “Thank you” and proceeded to toast with his vodka!

Noel’s Christmas bash

Noel Oñate once again opened his house for a small Christmas party, specially thrown for his friends Lord and Aksana Ancheta. Noel is, after all, godfather to Lord and Aksana’s child Alexandra.

It was a smaller crowd than Noel’s annual Christmas parties but was more intimate. Cold canapés such as marinated salmon with dill, grilled zucchini and ricotta coriander cheese, chicken liver pate and smoked ham were served. Grilled chicken skewers and deep-fried fish fingers with coconut flakes were a big hit with the guests. Orange-calamansi panna cotta, mini éclairs and chocolate cake were served for dessert. Hotel InterContinental Manila did the catering.

As expected, drinks overflowed, as in other parties of Noel! The party started in the afternoon, thus it ended quite reasonably at night. It was a fun party nevertheless!
