The king of pasta is coming!

MANILA, Philippines - Come Nov. 19 to 26, Manila will play host to Italy’s king of pasta: Vincenzo Spinosi. He will share an exclusive menu at the Red restaurant of Makati Shangri-La. Spinosi is one of only three Italians awarded the coveted five-star Diamond Award by The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, in recognition of his excellence in pasta innovation. He is also a recipient of the “Grand Official of Italy.”

Daniele Turco, executive chef of Hotel Gritti Palace in Venice, will join Spinosi in creating magic at the kitchen of Red. Turco is celebrated as a culinary master in truffles.

The members of the Spinosi family, from the small medieval town of Campofilone in Italy, have been producing their own kind of pasta since 1933. Vincenzo Spinosi continues this family tradition and tours the world to share this legacy.

The Spinosi pasta is handmade by only 14 employees of the company. They produce 70 kilos of pasta per hour. For Spinosi, the quality of pasta they create is more important than producing in quantity, making the Spinosi product a rare commodity.

Red will exclusively feature authentic Italian cuisine by the culinary duo of Spinosi and Turco in a special menu available for lunch and dinner from Nov. 19 to 26.

A celebration of truffles will take over Red on Nov. 19. Truffle enthusiasts may join the special truffle demo class by chef Turco, paired with a luscious set menu for lunch and a delectable truffle set menu for dinner. Pasta lovers can be part of Spinosi’s Scuola di Cucina (cooking class) followed by a set lunch on Nov. 26.
