Reminiscing the past and planning the future
Maryknoll College Golden Jubilarians (College Class ’61) brought the house down with an energetic rap at the recent homecoming of Maryknoll, now known as Miriam College.
Twenty graduates performed the original number, which was written, choreographed and directed by one of their own — Nona Barrientos Kahn, a retired Chicago Public School Administrator. Nona created the number especially for their class presentation for the program. Providing dance movements as background were 20 classmates from here and abroad.
The homecoming capped a series of lunches, dinners, bienvenidas and out-of-town excursions hosted by the Philippine-based alumnae for their visiting classmates from all over the world.
After bonding and reminiscing the fun times they had as students, they agreed to meet again in 2013 in Las Vegas, with plans to go to the Maryknoll Motherhouse in Ossining, New York to visit former teachers and nuns who taught them to be what they are now.
