A celebration of friendship

Every Miladay affair is a celebration of friendship. So when the 45-year-old jewelry company recently opened its store at the third level of The Podium in Ortigas, friends of Miladay, old and new, came to celebrate — some even wearing the fine jewelry pieces they bought from Miladay more than four decades ago.

The day the jewelry company’s branch at The Podium was launched, the skies also lodged the city with torrential rains. But no amount of rainfall could stop the guests from coming. Guests were accorded with the warm reception of the Dayrit second-generation jewelers Mark Dayrit, Jaqui Boncan, Michelle Soliven, Christine Dayrit and Yvonne Romualdez.

“The jewelry business started by our parents, Ting and Mila Dayrit, has retained its brilliance because we celebrate life and love. And early on we were taught that the most valuable and cherished gems are family and friends,” Michelle, president of Miladay, told guests at the intimate gathering sumptuously catered by chef Jessie Sincioco with wines from Ralph Wines.

Michelle said the direct beneficiary of the Miladay event in Podium is the Divine Healer Academy, a lovely school for the underprivileged but deserving students in elementary and high school in Cabid-an, Sorsogon.

Former Supreme Court Justice Consuelo Santiago, STAR columnist Christine Dayrit and Chinky Santiago.

Longtime Miladay client and actress Vina Morales was the guest of honor. Spotted at the scene of revelry were SM’s Steven Tan, People Asia editor-in-chief Joanne Ramirez, retired SC Justice Consuelo Santiago, lawyer Chinky Santiago, Annie Lim Kawpeng, Sarina and Eric Jurado, Lucy Lee, Joy Sy, Penny Friedlander, Joey Abacan, lawyer Annette Gozon-Abrogar, Lulay Mapa, TJ Moncupa, Nonie Basilio, Velma Valeriano, Lucila Reyes, Celina Mendoza and Baby San Juan.
