Eat your way to a healthier you!

“Food as medicine” is the concept behind the Cohen Program, a scientifically proven weight-loss and wellness program through nutrition that allows individuals to lose an average of eight to 10 lbs. a month.

The “Ladies of Cohen” Barbara Young, Regina Rodriguez-Chuavon and Dr. Angel Rodriguez-Bandola, pioneers of the Cohen Program in the Philippines, were at the launch. They also serve as executives of Cohen’s Lifestyle Centre Philippines where the program is exclusively available.

Graduates of the Cohen Program Don Marasigan, Ira de los Reyes, Jingo Fermin, Aldine Rosaldo and Dr. Windie Hayano told guests how the program was instrumental in helping them get their life back on track.

Myron’s Place owners Ramon and Monique Eugenio worked with the Cohen pioneers to carefully design a healthy menu for the launch. Guests were served an Asian prawn soup with garden vegetables, a “Rami” steak named in honor of Dr. Cohen and cinnamon apple crisp with low-fat yoghurt for dessert.

Young says if the person needs to lose at least 10 pounds, is between the age of 15 and 65, and is generally healthy, then that person may qualify for the Cohen Program. Unfortunately, diabetics, patients with heart conditions and severe kidney or liver problems are prohibited from the program.

Formulated by Dr. Rami Cohen, an international specialist renowned for his research on the hormones involved in obesity and weight loss, the Cohen Program is based on internationally-accepted medical research. It has been available for over 25 years with thousands of success stories worldwide.

Cohen’s research revealed that human growth hormone (HGH), insulin and serotonin play a role in obesity. HGH is responsible for the regeneration and preservation of body, organ and muscle tissue, slowing the aging process and the breaking down of fat in the body to be used as energy. Insulin regulates blood sugar levels while serotonin tells the body when it is full or satisfied.

The Cohen Program develops an individually tailored eating plan, which triggers the body’s natural ability to shed off fat rapidly and safely, bringing the hormones back in balance. This is followed by a short, stabilizing re-feeding program to reintroduce rich foods without upsetting the balance created by the eating plan.

In celebration of medical excellence

It was indeed a celebration of world-class medical excellence and compassionate care as Asian Hospital and Medical Center recently celebrated its ninth anniversary with the unveiling of its second hospital tower. The celebration was held at the lobby of the new hospital tower.

Asian Hospital and Medical Center CEO Theo Seiler said, “Our legacy in the last nine years has always been about raising the level of medical care in the Philippines. We pioneered a revolutionary concept of medical facility that has now become a benchmark in the local hospital industry. This new tower fittingly reflects our commitment to innovation and aptly celebrates our close to a decade of excellence and expertise in the field of medicine and delivering compassionate care to our patients.”

The hospital’s founding chair Dr. Jorge Garcia added, “Asian Hospital is the result of our vision to put up a world-class hospital in the country. I take pride in what we have accomplished through the years and look forward to more years of pioneering innovations and redefining once more the level of medical care in the country.”

Asian Hospital and Medical Center also renews its commitment to support environmental causes as it gave away pots of plants as souvenirs to guests in support of the City of Muntinlupa’s Go Green Campaign.
