Bruno Mars at Seventh High

THE PEPPER MILL - Pepper Teehankee -

A little over a week ago, The Fort’s newest night spot Seventh High hosted an after-concert party for Bruno Mars, giving his numerous fans a chance to party with (or catch a glimpse of) the half-Filipino Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter. The anticipation and excitement from the awaiting crowd was unforgettable as hundreds flooded the entrance of Seventh High.

Overwhelmed with the support of the crowd, Bruno couldn’t help but sing a line from his popular hit Nothing on You to serenade his fans. Impressed by the party, he really took the chance to unwind and celebrate his Manila tour with his family and friends, staying in the new nightspot until 3 in the morning!

With him came his front act and One Tree Hill star and another Fil-Am Michael Copon with manager Brett Lazar. Michael enjoyed himself so much he had to get up the stage and show his dance moves!

When asked how they felt about the party, both had just three words to say — “I’ll be back!”

STAR columnists Tim Yap and Raymond Gutierrez with Rufa Mae Quinto.

Seventh High gave one hell of a send-off to both artists and a party to remember for everyone who was there.

The importance of saving water

“Saving water means saving the world as water is the very source that gives us life.”

This was the message of the celebration organized by Tupperware Brands Philippines in commemoration of UN Water’s World Water Day. Tupperware launched an exhibit that aimed to build public awareness on the importance of sustainable water resources management.

President and managing director of Tupperware Brands Perry Mogar said, “As a global company, we feel we are in a position to encourage and inspire the public to consciously save our water resources and to educate them on the health benefits of doing so.”

The highlight of the event was the Tupperware World Water Day exhibit at the cinema lobby area of the TriNoma. On display were Tupperware Water Solutions, a range of durable, high-quality and eco-friendly water bottles and containers that aim to help the public get into the habit of drinking water for better health. Such products featured were the Eco Water Bottles. Other Tupperware water solutions included the Giant Tumblers, Beverage Buddy and Fridge Water Bottles.

In keeping with World Water Day’s 2011 theme “Water for Cities: Responding to the Urban Challenge,” the brand pledged its support to different causes like the protection of 400 trees for two years through Bantay Kalikasan’s Save La Mesa Watershed Project and the provision of clean water to the residents of Payatas. Tupperware enlisted the help of its 420 employees who were encouraged to drink as much water as they could during the event. Those who visited the exhibit were encouraged to leave their empty water bottles in a bin for proper waste disposal. The total liters of water they consumed was converted to the amount of clean water to be donated to Payatas.
