A match like no other
Polo enthusiasts from the business and social circles recently showed off their winning forms and their love for the sport during the Aguirre Silver Cup held at the SouthLand Polo and Equestrian Center in Las Piñas. The spectacular and well-attended gathering was hosted by avid polo player and businessman Bobby Aguirre in partnership with event presenter, The Bellevue Hotel, the luxurious five-star hotel in the Southern Metro under the helm of visionary chairman Johnny Chan and brilliant GM Patrick Chan. Affable Bellevue marketing and communications director Ryan Chan led the ceremonial throw-in to officially start the competition. It was a grueling test of skill and stamina as three teams battled it out for the low goal match in which the Black Team triumphantly won. As for the high goal match, the White Team bagged the top spot with its impressive victory led by Anthony Garcia. Taking part in the competition were special guests including Ralph Lauren image model Nacho Figueras, brothers Cole and Gus Aguirre as well as father and son Iñigo and Jake Zobel. The gracious and excellent members of the Bellevue team also treated the participants to an array of delectable canapés and drinks inside their beautifully set-up VIP lounge tent. The successful cup concluded with an awarding ceremony emceed by lovely model and actress Solenn Heussaf. Each player happily came home with accommodation gift certificate from The Bellevue and B Hotel as well as gift packs from event partners GNC Live Well and Future Trade International.
Congratulations to Bobby and Ryan for making this fantastic polo event a truly remarkable and impressive one!
An Oriental feast for Chito
The dearest friends of renowned architect and interior designer Chito Antonio recently gathered for an afternoon of Chinese degustation at the EDSA Shangri-La’s Summer Palace in celebration of his birthday. The event was filled with delectable cuisine starting with champagne served with appetizers of pomelo in wasabi sauce and soft-shelled crabs with pork floss followed by mango shrimp rolls. What ensued was an assortment of carefully-plated Chinese delicacies arranged by the celebrator and supervised meticulously by Nancy Farm. There was also a symphony of desserts composed of a trio of lemongrass jelly with sherbet, sesame-filled balls and fried Shanghainese pancake. More champagne flowed until late in the afternoon.
Happy birthday, Chito! Here’s to more years of success! Cheers!
