Happy birthday, Jinkee!

Famous cosmetic surgeon Dr. Vicki Belo certainly knows how to pamper her celebrity endorsers not just with the many beauty treatments and services she offers in her Belo clinic. She also showers them with fantastic gifts and exciting parties.

When Jinkee Pacquiao, wife of the world’s greatest pound-for-pound boxer Manny Pacquiao, celebrated her birthday, Vicki threw an intimate birthday dinner for one of her favorite celebrity endorsers.

The dinner event was held at the Makati home of Vicki and was attended by some of Jinkee’s closest friends, with her hubby Manny as Jinkee’s escort that night.

Vicki and her super friendly and talented daughter Cristalle Belo Henares entertained the guests in their home and made sure Jinkee’s very intimate birthday dinner was special.

Jinkee’s dramatic transformation was courtesy of the latest treatments of Belo. Vicki, the “Doctor to the Stars,” is proud of her “work” on Manny’s queen. Jinkee’s huge billboards along EDSA were clear testaments of her new look.

From the state-of-the-art Smart Lipo, Body Tite and diet injections for weight loss, Jinkee also tried anti-aging machines like Thermage and Ulthera to keep her youthful glow.

The very intimate dinner was indeed special as the gathering was among friends in a private place.

Night of the champions

The only professional racing school in the country, Tuason Racing School (TRS), celebrated its “Winner’s Night” party at Opus Lounge at Resorts World for the school’s several wins last year. The place was packed with racing and car aficionados as well as friends and sponsors.

The TRS Racing Team won several awards from the Karting, Drifting, GT Championships and the Philippine Production Car Championships with the support of Ford Philippines, Castrol, Mazda Philippines, Standard Insurance, Coke Zero, Oakley, Discovery Suites, OMP, Aguila Auto Glass, DC shoes, 3M, C! Magazine, Fremuff, Dupont, Starbright Bodykits, Ultra Racing, Speedlab, Toptul and Rota Wheels.  

TRS is headed by multi-awarded race car driver and road safety advocate JP Tuason. At Opus, JP gave a rundown of the 2010 achievements of the racing school and introduced his racing students.

Top prize for the National Karting Series for the Mini Rook Division went to 12-year-old Basti Escalante, who represented the country in the world finals in Italy. Michael Tuason and Bjorn Ongtiabok led the TRS-Castrol Drift team on board the first diesel-powered, full cab Mazda BT50 drift pick up and winning both first and second place for the 2010 season in the lateral drift competition. TRS racing team also dominated the Ford Focus touring car championship by winning both the GT 125 with British Sean Redpath, then taking top two trophies of the 2010 Philippine Production Car Championship with Marcus Wong and Sean Redpath, who were both trained by TRS. Race car driver and internationally trained race coach Mike Tuason on board the Mazda RX7 Super car carrying the TRS-Castrol flag outpaced other high-powered race car in the GT300 plum. These were just some of the many achievements of the students of TRS last year.

Guests were treated with overflowing wines from Manny O and souvenir photos from Fujifilm. Others spotted that night were Steven Tan, Dino Obias and Anika Salceda from Ford, Glen Dasig of Mazda, Mars Sota and Ariel De Jesus of Castrol, race car writer James Deakin and TRS students Louie Ysmael,  Bobby Horrigan, Phoemela Baranda and Issa Litton-Garrido.

CLIMBING FOR A CAUSE. Members of Akyaters Adventure Club, a mountaineering group, recently celebrated their third anniversary by climbing Mt. Pulag, the country’s third highest mountain and Luzon’s highest peak. The climb became all the more significant when they had an outreach program at the Mt. Pulag Primary School in Kabayan, Benguet. Months before the climb, mountaineers asked for donations from other people to provide the students with school supplies. They were also able to raise funds to buy the school bell, sound system and reading materials for its library. Senior hiker Moises Gomez says, “The group believes that every climbing enthusiast can make a mountain of difference by doing little acts of kindness. We would like to thank all our donors who helped us make this endeavor possible. It was fulfilling to see the smiles on the kids’ faces.”
