The inimitable Faico, founder of Hoseki, a popular jewelry salon, is a multi-awarded jewelry designer and one of the Philippines’ most innovative artists. From creating exquisite jewelry pieces, he has expanded his artistry by showcasing his magnificent talent and exceptional creativity on canvas. Recently, Manila’s A-listers were in for a visual treat as Faico, in collaboration with Galerie Stephanie, proudly launched his fascinating exhibit, entitled Opulence: Exploring the Possibilities of Interpretation. Faico’s loving wife Hoseki corporate affairs director Zabeth Co and sons Harold and Stefan, with award-winning Hoseki designer Knoi Esmane, were on hand to lend their support to the man-of-the-hour. Highly-esteemed guests truly had a great time as they witnessed the artist’s remarkable and ingenious creativity through his captivating pieces inspired by the use of two dynamic elements — pearl and Chinese calligraphy. Also, notable during the affair was the impressive guest list that included highly-respected names in the art scene such as celebrated international painter Betsy Westendorp, internationally renowned artist and Presidential Medal of Merit Awardee Juvenal Sanso and distinguished personalities such as Guatemala Consul Mellie Ablaza, Hoseki Woman 2006 Marivic Madrigal Vazquez, Bellevue marketing and communications director Ryan Chan and Aficionado and Joel Cruz Signatures president and CEO Joel Cruz. It was one successful, well-attended event indeed! Congratulations Faico!

A spectacular showdown at the StarBall

Dance enthusiasts in Manila are surely in for another fabulous treat as the dazzling and much-anticipated ballroom dance competition — The Philippine StarBall Festival of Champions — takes center stage once again on Feb. 12 at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel. Led by the vivacious Philippine StarBall organizer Pinky Puno, this year’s affair will feature some of the best dance artists in their respective styles. Aside from having top ballroom couples of six different styles presenting their breathtaking show dances, the event spices up with the addition of Argentine Tango with world-class performers Carolina Zokalski with Diego di Falco, and Miriam Larici with Leonardo Barrionuevo.
