Dancing their way to help others
It was one elegant evening as prominent Bulakeños and their families recently gathered to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the prestigious Club Bulakeño through its famed Annual Charity Ball. This year’s celebration at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza, with the theme Kapwa Ko, Kalinga Ko, was led by its hardworking club presidents retired Gen. Jun Tan-Gatue and philanthropic wife Sol, and graced by guests of honor, Vice President Jejomar Binay and his loving wife Dr. Elenita, a true-blue Bulakeña. During the event, Club Bulakeño’s “Ama ng Bulacan,” Ambassador Bienvenido Tantoco Sr., gave an inspiring message as read by his son Rico Tantoco, while the big screens showed the club’s various worthwhile projects in Bulacan.
The club’s founder, engineer Gene Reyes, who came with wife Lydia, proudly called this occasion a proof of his vision 22 years ago to help his “less fortunate kababayans,” citing more than 40 scholars that the club has helped through the years and laudable projects including medical and dental outreach programs, relief-assistance during calamities and a club Bulakeño-GK Housing Village in Angat.
Among those seen gracing the affair were Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr., former Marikina Mayor Marides Fernando, Pasig Rep. Roman Romulo, Bulacan Rep. Arthur Robles and Rep. Emmeline Aglipay.
Happy anniversary to Club Bulakeño! Mabuhay!
