A mythical, magical Belo celebration

In celebration of the eighth anniversary and reopening of the Belo Greenhills clinic, the pioneering world-class celebrity cosmetic surgeon Dr. Vicki Belo recently hosted a fabulous Chinese-themed party that saw an upscale mix of noted names in the society and entertainment circles and the Chinese community. Dr. Vicki, who looked fab in a red Chinese cheongsam by Delby Bragais, was joined by lovely daughter Cristalle Belo Henares, the lady behind the highly-successful Belo Essentials whitening products, in welcoming well-known personalities to their newly-refurbished and renovated Greenhills clinic.

Guests were delighted at the elegant affair as they were ushered into the Chinese-themed venue highlighted with a stunning eight-ft.-tall floral dragon sculpture designed by the brilliant Robert Blancaflor. To celebrate Belo’s major milestone, there was a symbolic fresh flower and balloon releasing ceremony led by Regal matriarch Lily Monteverde and daughter Roselle Monteverde-Teo, Letty Tan, Hoseki Woman 2006 Marivic Madrigal Vasquez, Angie Tan, Megaworld’s Kevin Tan, Billie Gan, Alyssa Gan and actor Matteo Guidicelli.

A hearty affair

Dusit Thani vice chair Evelyn Singson welcomed Dr. John Strobeck and his team at the Royal Thai Benjarong and hosted a working dinner between the Makati Medical Center (MMC) team of cardiologists and the Premier Heart team from the US and Japan. The Department of Medicine at MMC, as part of its research program, is introducing its scientific roadmap towards excellence in applied research, specifically to cardiovascular physiology. MMC and Premier Heart will cooperate to test the Multifunction Cardiogram (MCG) machine on Filipino patients in the bid to internationalize its data base. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Medicare have approved the MCG for general use in the US. Way to go, MMC and Premier Heart!

A gathering of friends

An interesting circle of friends gathered recently for an afternoon birthday celebration for the bubbly society chronicler Resty Vergara at the pride and joy of Noel and Eileen Gonzales — The Muebles Italiano Showroom in Paseo de Magallanes. The charming Nene Leonor with Muebles Italiano president Noel Gonzales and wife Eileen hosted the high tea soiree that had former Netherlands Ambassador Theo Arnold, Manila Hotel GM Leon Keekstra, Thai Airways GM Nivat Chantarachoti and actor Ricky Davao marvelling at the captivating beauty of the furniture, chandeliers and rare antiques that helped add to the success of the celebration. The party was filled with laughter and well-wishes for another year of good health and blessings for Resty.
