One of the leading mobile phone providers, Samsung, has introduced Galaxy S (Model: I9000) and Samsung Wave (Model: S8500) — the latest breakthroughs in mobile smartphone technology, which combine the best possible hardware with ultra intelligent technology.
At the morning press conference held at White Space in Pasong Tamo, director and head of mobile phones Glenn Glinoga, along with Globe Telecom brand head Cathy Santamaria, introduced their partnership as Samsung Galaxy would be exclusively available to Globe subscribers. Silver balls loomed over guests and the stage was surrounded with screens as host Bianca Valerio invited Glenn and Cathy along with Samsung advisor for mobile phones Michael Cheon, Samsung product marketing head Coco Domingo and Globe postpaid acquisitions head Debbi Obias on stage to entertain the questions from the press. Raffle prizes were given away and a wonderful lunch buffet from Cibo was served.
The evening launch at the same venue saw Samsung dealers and operators as well as guests clad in black and silver. They were led by host Tessa Prieto-Valdes into the main hall as The All Stars grooved and the screens were unveiled. Guest speakers Aaron Atayde and Rovilson Fernandez then took the stage after the impressive Samsung Wave and Galaxy S CG videos were played on the panoramic 180-degree screens. They expounded on how the latest phone models could enhance their daily activities. They also highlighted Samsung’s philosophy of the “Smart Life” — one that shifts the way that consumers view smartphones and how they interact with them through Samsung’s best-in-class services and technologies. Up Dharma Down provided entertainment followed by DJ Toti Salvacion. The Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Wave were then raffled off to two lucky guests.
The Galaxy S is encased in one sleek package (only 9.9 mm thick) with a four-inch Super AMOLED screen. It is powered with Google’s Android operating system, which supports easier web surfing and provides access to over 50,000 applications from Android Market and Samsung Apps. The Samsung Wave has a Super AMOLED 3.3-inch screen, a powerful 1 GHz processor for advanced graphic performance, HD video capability so you can record and watch videos in superior quality, TouchWiz 3.0 for fast, effortless usage and 2GB memory to store all your files. Both models are equipped with Social Hub, so you can keep up with your social media life anywhere and anytime by integrating your contacts and inbox messages with your Facebook and Twitter accounts.

A French-themed birthday
Cris Albert decided to go indulgently French for her birthday party held at Members Only at The Fort. The venue was transformed into her own private parlor inspired by “Marie Antoinette.” Colors like blue accented with shades of pink and cream covered the walls and furniture. Topiaries towered over the guests while scattered rose petals were rampant.
As a take off from Marie Antoinette’s famous quip: “Let them eat cake”, Cris served her guests various types of cake — chocolate truffles, crème brulee in eggshells, lemon tart meringue, white chocolate with pistachio cream and strawberry shortcakes with walnuts. Of course, bubbly was flowing all night for Fila’s owner!
It was a birthday fit for a queen. Happy birthday, Cris!
