Fun-filled soirees at Lago del Rey

THE PEPPER MILL - Pepper Teehankee -

Summer officially ended with exhilarating watersports adventures and lots of fun-filled soirees at the 2nd Lago del Rey Summer Aquafest held at the Lago del Rey lakeside of the CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC).

Camarines Sur Gov. LRay Villafuerte said: “The Lago del Rey Summer Aquafest has become a much-anticipated summer event among our celebrity and media friends, so this year we have made it even more fun, bold and daring with the lineup of exciting land and water-based competitions. Of course, all these were enjoyed by our guests at the breathtaking Lago del Rey, which is fast becoming another watersports haven among local and foreign watersports enthusiasts.”

Lago del Rey is an 18-hectare manmade lake right across the road from the fabulous wakeboard cable lake of the CWC cable park, now known all over the world for offering the best water-based entertainment facilities in Asia, complete giant water slides, aqua wall climbing, water polo, water volleyball and kayaking, among others.

In line with Villafuerte’s vision of making CamSur the mecca of sports tourists, the Lago del Rey Summer Aquafest featured fun games for celebrity players. After the tiring competition, guests relaxed with chill-out parties held at the Poolside. Entertainment was provided by Hale, Robin Nievera and Encore DJs Jon Herrera and Mars Miranda.

Other guests included Ginger Conejero, Reema Chanco, Rochelle Barrameda, Justine Ferrer, Rich Asuncion, Alicia Mayer, Paolo Paraiso, Jeremy Marquez, JM Rodriguez, Jimwell Stevens, Bobby Yan, Antonio Aquitania, Ernie Lopez and VJ Alvin Pulga.

The Lago del Rey Summer Aquafest was organized by Marilen Nuñez and her team from LenPlus and was made possible by Headwear, Hugo Boss, Hawaiian Tropic, Republ1c, LRay and the Province of Camarines Sur.

A bold and beautiful party

Thai Airways GM Nivat Chantarachoti hosted a birthday party by the poolside of his residence at Dusit Thani Hotel for his friend — ballroom diva Becky Garcia.

The theme for the evening was “Bold and Beautiful,” wherein guests were asked to come in bold colors. The birthday celebrator, escorted by husband Dr. George Sarakinis, was in a sparking red gown. Guests enjoyed a buffet spread of Asian and international cuisines while actor Ricky Davao serenaded friends.

Other guests at the party were Donnie Ramirez, sisters Manette and Camille Agbayani, Sari Yap, Cory Quirino, Eric Ting, Joy Fong, Resty Vergara, Dr. Joni Dizon, John Gaddi, Sonny Tanchanco, Manila Hotel GM Leon Keekstra, former ambassador Theo Arnold, photographer Rupert Jacinto and Star columnist and TV host Tim Yap.

Special thanks to Dusit Thani Hotel GM Prateek Kumar, PR director Cora Auste and PR manager Danelle Palang who were responsible for transforming the hotel poolside into a magical setting. There was even videoke while guests were sipping their after-dinner dessert wine and Cognac.

Belated happy birthday, Becky!
