Celebrating Cory!

It’s confirmed! The Cory Swatch Popular Edition will be available on Easter Sunday, April 4.

After the very successful launch of the limited edition watch, which only had 801 (for August 1, the day Cory Aquino passed away) watches issued, the Popular Edition watch is finally coming. Don’t be fooled by the name as this is available for a very limited time only and expect it to disappear quickly once it hits the shelves.

A few very lucky people were part of the Swatch research. Here’s a text from a happy lady who was surprised with a thank you note and a Cory Swatch popular edition from a grateful Virgie Ramos: “Wore it the minute I got it, been on my wrist ever since. The popular edition is fantastic — the book, the watch, the laptop bag packaging — it is evident that you were all inspired and continue to be so...” wrote Monique Villonco.

The Cory Swatch launch event timed to celebrate “The Woman Dressed in Sunshine” was an event loaded with very memorable moments from the past, the present and the future. Jaime Zobel, who designed the watch, reminds us all “to remember, not to forget.” Rep. Teddyboy Locsin, who wrote the essays in the book, called the event “seamless.” Pinky Aquino-Abellada calls the Cory Swatch project “a masterpiece. If mom were still around, she wouldn’t have stopped saying thank you to you all.”

Held at the Ayala Museum, the event welcomed guests with the FEU Marching Band playing Tie a Yellow Ribbon and had Martin Nievera singing You Are the Sunshine of My Life and Lea Salonga singing Bayan Ko in the Rowell Santiago-directed launch.

The Popular Edition Cory Swatch also comes with the book A Woman Dressed in Sunshine in a black laptop bag with a yellow ribbon on it. The Popular Edition book has same contents as the book that accompanied the Limited Edition but in the Limited Edition case, the Cory Swatch was incorporated inside the book.

To avoid stress, I recommend you make your reservations now at any Swatch store because the first edition got sold out in two hours!
