Channel [V] The relaunch party rocked Manila at the NBC Tent in Taguig. Two months after Rep. Ronald Singson bought TVX Broadcast Corp. (formerly Makisig Network Inc.), he closely worked with channel head JM Rodriguez and fashion director and PR Cat Arambulo to revamp the image of the music channel.
Singson said, “We’ve launched Channel [V] Philippines to tap into a niche market that expects more from their music channel — that is, a music channel with substance, which dares to feature everything about today’s pop culture. This time, Channel [V] will feature a lineup of entertainment talk shows, lifestyle features, celebrity-oriented shows and local reality TV shows with a new crop of VJs and hosts who are all geared up to make TV viewing more entertaining and educational. Our viewers can expect Channel [V] Philippines to become ‘The People’s Music Channel’.”
Channel [V] had definitely had a reason to party with 14 new shows under its wing and four new VJs namely model and host Cliff Cole, actress and host Megan Young, Channel [V] International’s resident VJ Alvey Alfonso and model and host Maike Evers.
Guests were treated to performances by some of the hottest names in Pinoy music like Rico Blanco, Pupil, The Dawn, Domino and Mocha.
Others spotted were Patch Savellano, Erik Cua, Jon Herrera, Bubbles and Paolo Paraiso, Ayanna Oliva, Jinno Rufino, Juliana Palermo, Dos Quizon, Ketchup Eusebio, Carla Humphries, Raymund Isaac, Allure’s Chechel Joson and Zia Marquez.
Everyone enjoyed an evening of cocktails from Manila Peninsula and some lucky guests took home iPod Shuffles, iPod Nanos and iPod Touch, which have been pre-programmed with play lists specially created by Channel [V] for the event.
Channel [V] Philippines is currently available on SkyCable Channel 25.

Chivalry is alive
Chivas Regal unveiled the Live with Chivalry campaign at the Establishment Bar in the Fort, Taguig City. Regional mentoring manager for Chivas Brothers Limited Darren Hosie flew in from Scotland to lead the ceremonial toast. Guests were treated to a night of Establishment’s delicious hors d’oeuvres and overflowing Chivas on the rocks for the men and specially concocted Chivas cocktails for the ladies.
The Chivas Regal brand was founded by brothers James and John Chivas. They were Scottish grocers from Aberdeen who produced whiskey of such great quality that in 1843, Queen Victoria herself made them suppliers for the Royal Family. Centuries later, the name of the Chivas Brothers remains strong and is readily associated with the most prestigious scotch whiskies and premium gins in the world.
The event was highlighted by honoring the country’s most distinguished gentlemen who embody the values of Chivalry: Gallantry, Brotherhood, Freedom and Honor. They were mountain climber Romi Garduce, club owners Carlo Trillo, Erik Cua and Conrad Alcantara, photographer Mark Nicdao and tour man Carlos Celdran.
