A taste of the Swiss life

Swiss nationals and locals alike were recently greeting each other Grüezi! (one fine Swiss hello) as the five-star Marco Polo Plaza Cebu celebrated the Swiss National Day, along with its traditional food festival entitled Swissness from A-Z held at the award-winning Café Marco. Now on its third year, the jovial occasion hosted by affable GM Hans Hauri became another successful multicultural journey to the land of the Alps as special guests were treated to a delectable gourmet selection of everything Swiss — from Alpine air-dried beef to chocolates down to the fondue and the Zurich-style veal. The event culminated with fun games, yodeling contest and film showing. Plum prizes were also raffled off. Truly, it was an authentic showcase of Swiss cuisine, art and culture.

Cheers!

The secret of snow water revealed

A grand opening recently took place at TriNoma for the launch of Laneige, the brand from cosmetics giant Amore Pacific that is captivating women all over Asia. Led by brand president Winnie Go and vice president Judy Yu, guests had a swell time as they witnessed the secret of snow water revealed. Laneige, which means “the snow” in French, took off from the unique desire of Asian women for crystal clear skin. As there are no two snowflakes alike in the world, so is every woman unique and different. If you are among the women who like to celebrate and exhibit the beauty of their individuality, come visit Laneige at the third level of TriNoma or call 345-5682 to learn what the secret is all about.

Congratulations!

Gentle hearts unite

The Catholic Women’s Club (CWC) will be holding its Annual Charity Ball tomorrow, dubbed as Ang Ating Kahapon Sa Ngayon in conjunction with its 88th anniversary celebration at the Main Lounge of the Manila Polo Club. The Filipinana motif is reminiscent of a genteel era in our nation’s history. Photo shows the Annual Ball Committee: (from left) this year’s co-chair Rose Marie Lazaro, chairman Karen Macasaet, CWC president Nonie Basilio, co-chairpersons Mabel Abaño and Rosita Lesaca. You’re truly all heart, ladies!
