7107 reasons to go on a cruise

THE PEPPER MILL - Pepper Teehankee -

“A Celebration of the Islands” was the theme of a party conceptualized by Edda Garcia and Stephanie Zubiri who founded the “Modern Epicurean Kitchen.” Guests flocked to the only luxury cruise ship in the Philippines, 7107 Islands cruise ship for a night of good food by Stephanie.

Guests indulged in Steph’s hors d’oeuvres such as Cajun pasta, coconut crusted shrimps, tuna ceviche in wanton cups and Caribbean fish balls with saffron while downing Finlandia and Russian Standard vodkas, Cava and wines from Wine Depot and Barcino.

Steve Tajanlangit’s cruise ship has 137 cabins, three restaurants, a dance hall, piano bar and a pool. It allows tourists and locals to cruise going to and from Boracay, Puerto Galera and Coron in Palawan.

Several prizes were raffled off to lucky guests as the party continued until midnight on the ship docked at Pier 6 on the North Harbor of Manila. Ladies received goodie bags from L’Oreal and paying guests received a P5,000-cruise check.

Other sponsors were Wine Depot, Rene Barbier, Freixenet, Flyace Corp., Barcino, Bliss Yoga, ADP Industries, Enjoy Philippines, Beam Global, Bestworld Beverages, Finlandia Vodka, San Miguel Corp. and L’Oreal Philippines.

Four years of Superklasse

Embassy’s hot Wednesday night concept celebrated its fourth year with a bash hosted by Johnny Verse and the Styles crew. The evening was a celebration of the Superklasse sound, which is of course the very distinct hip-hop mash-up music that Embassy Superclub pioneered and popularized.

Special guest on the turntables was DJ E-Man of Power 106 FM flying in from LA and supported by DJ Ace, DJ Mars and Emcee Dash with live photography by Revolution.

Keeping the crowd pumped up all night was Brand Bacardi. Bacardi’s special open bar for the night definitely made the night complete.

Bacardi’s main man Rajiv Ghumman explained: “Bacardi’s association with music is truly global, given its association with the worldwide event concept Bacardi B Live. B Live is an endeavor to bring cutting-edge music to consumers worldwide. Last year, our sponsorship of Groove Armada epitomized it. Bacardi’s involvement with Superklasse, where top DJ talents from around the world are showcased shows Bacardi’s global association with music of all genres. We hope to see you every Wednesday for Superklasse at Embassy, and here’s to another year of success and celebration.”

Others seen were Brent Javier, STAR columnist Tim Yap, Karen Pamintuan, Mong Alcaraz of Sandwich, Kat Alano, Mickey Perz and Nicole Anderson.
