An auspicious affair

Business has never been this good as the five-star Marco Polo Plaza Cebu (MPPC), led by Federal Land and MPPC president Rey Villar and general manager Hans Hauri, recently opened its door to travel and tourism buyers from various parts of the world as it hosted the Third Philippine International Fair 2009. The fair was held in partnership with The National Association of Independent Travel Agencies, The Philippine Convention & Visitors Corp. and the Department of Tourism. After the successful trade event, foreign and local delegates along with other special guests headed to the hotel’s opulent Grand Balcony where they were treated to a superb farewell dinner replete with delectable cuisines and overflowing crisp wines. Adding drama to the occasion was legendary Filipino violin virtuoso Jay Cayuca who captivated guests with his enthralling “String Sensations” performance.

The Hindu greeting “Namaste” which basically means “I salute the divinity within you” was clearly well expressed as honorable members of the government and diplomatic corps flocked the Dusit Thani Manila Grand Ballroom for the 60th anniversary of the Philippine-India Diplomatic Relations. Both President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Indian Ambassador Rajeet Mitter shared inspirational speeches regarding the growth and development of both countries. Indian Chamber of Commerce president Ram Sitaldas spearheaded the luncheon event as guests were entertained by the Philippine Hoteliers Inc. president Gerhard Kropp and Dusit Thani Manila general manager Prateek Kumar. The event was truly successful in showing how camaraderie and oneness can really make a difference. Cheers!

After the most rocking summer event of the Velvet Sky Channel, some of today’s hottest celebrities and TV personalities were recently spotted having a great time as they stayed at the hottest spot in one of the country’s most beautiful and happening beaches — The Boracay Regency Beach Resort and Convention Center.
