Martinis turns two!

THE PEPPER MILL - Pepper Teehankee -

The days of Studio 54 took centerstage when Martinis, Mandarin Oriental, Manila’s premiere urban hotspot, celebrated its second anniversary. The attendants, wearing colored tresses, were decked out in ‘70s disco wear. Free-flowing lychee martinis and 007’s were served courtesy of Belvedere Vodka, along with red and white wines from Titania Wines.

Manila Paris Confidential with David Starck and Alvin Cornista played from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. while DJ Elian Habayeb took over with his disco music afterwards. At 12 midnight, a toast was given by Ines Cabarrus, accompanied by Martinis manager Paolo Quimson and Mandarin Oriental’s public relations manager Erika Aquino.

Others seen at the crowded but fun place were PI Jazz Festival maven Sandra Viray, businessman Peng Perez de Tagle and wife Vickie, Othmar Ober, Lord Ancheta, Richard Tiu, Carla Kramer, Aksana Drobysh, Stephanie Zubiri and Mandarin Oriental’s executive assistant manager Florian Kittler.
