Savoring the taste of Macau

It was a delightful gastronomic affair with the best culinary specialties of Macau as the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, the Queen City of the South’s finest five-star hotel under the helm of GM Hans Hauri, in conjunction with the Macau Government Tourism office, recently launched the exciting Macau Food Festival. The savory festival was held at the hotel’s award-winning international buffet restaurant Café Marco and topnotch resto-bar BLU Bar & Grill. Highlighting the city’s uniquely cosmopolitan cuisine, Marco Polo’s multi-awarded executive chef Luke Gagnon treated notable guests from the social and business circles to delectable Macanese dishes such as African Chicken and Piquant Prawns, Dim Sum, Tacho, Galinha Portuguesa and Minchi. It was indeed a superb event showcasing Macau’s finest only at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. Congratulations!

All for a beautiful cause

In celebration of its 77th anniversary, the prestigious Sin Nombre Club de Laguna Foundation, Inc., a socio-civic group composed of prominent and accomplished San Pableños in Laguna, led by 2007-2009 lady president Dr. Elizabeth Estrada-Candido and gentleman president Dr. Lorenzo “Boyet” Diawatan, recently hosted an elegant dinner and reception with ballroom dancing at the Fiesta Pavilion of Manila Hotel. The “strictly formal” event highlighted the traditional and classic “Rigodon de Honor” in honor of Patricia Soledad Floirendo Diawatan, escorted by dapper Ramon Borja Jr., who was crowned muse of the Sin Nombre Club de Laguna. Leading the coronation were Don Ado Escudero, well-known civic leader Minerva Tanseco, Letty Hahn, PAGCOR chairman Efraim Genuino and Thai Ambassador Kulkumut Singhara Na Ayudhaya.

Raising the ante in golfing prowess

Avid golf lovers were recently given a chance to further hone their skills with the launch of the country’s very own Mizuno Club-Fitting Center. Led by Master Sports Corp. (MSC)-Mizuno president Lovell Gopez and GM Paolo Cagalingan, Mizuno Japan’s master fitter and manager of Custom-fitting section Shigeharu Yabumoto and Mizuno golf business section and Asia-Oceania department chief of staff Emiko Umino conducted the seminar. Leave it to Mizuno when it comes to real sports development.

Johnny says, ‘Check this out’

With outstanding performances in several praiseworthy classical concerts, Elaine Lee, the mesmerizing soprano who holds a bachelor’s degree in opera performance at the University of British Columbia in Canada, will take center stage at the Philam Life Theatre on April 4. The new star of the Philippine Opera World has recently taken the role of producer as well as performer in her first project, Bella Notte. See you there!

Celebrating Easter Boracay style
