Lovin' life at 70

Over a hundred close friends, family and colleagues recently came together to personally greet the well loved and much-admired Felix Amparo Sr. as he celebrated his 70th birthday at the Le Soufflé Rockwell Club organized by lovely wife Tessie. After the solemn thanksgiving Mass, guests were treated to a delectable dinner and a lively party hosted by Felix’s affable son Junnie. The splendid celebration went till the wee hours as talented singers entertained the crowd with their engaging performances. It was truly a memorable affair as friends and family, including charming daughter Carina, gave heartwarming messages as they wished Felix more fruitful years and all the best in life.

A noble affair

It was one stately evening as the elite members of the diplomatic corps recently gathered to pay tribute to the Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to the Philippines Godfrey Simasiku and his loving wife Sibeso. They were honored at a lavish dinner reception hosted by indefatigable Consul Luis Ablaza Jr. of the Republic of Zambia and his affable wife Consul Amelia Ablaza of the Republic of Guatemala held at their posh Makati residence. The splendid affair, which marked strengthened Philippine-Zambia relation ties, concluded with a lively toast for the health and happiness of the honorees.

A magnificent bash for the dynamic duo

It was one classy evening to remember as dapper Jerry Tiu and lovely Sari Yap recently celebrated a fabulous joint birthday party at the dining hot-spot Sala restaurant in Makati. The intimate affair was twice the fun as families, close friends and well-wishers were treated to a delectable feast including the succulent portobello mushroom and the tasty grilled Angus beef bistro fillet with parsnip and porcini gratin complemented with exquisite wines such as Delta Sauvignon Blanc 2007 and Viña Quebrada de Macul Alba de Domus 2006. It was truly a joyous occasion as good friend Lorraine Belmonte led a toast to the celebrators, heartily agreed upon by the elite crowd. Coincidentally, special guests Willy and Geraldine Ocier, who celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary on the same night, were given a delightful cake to celebrate their milestone. Everyone had a great time as they enjoyed the night’s festivities while wishing the dynamic duo happiness and fruitful years ahead.

Bringing magic to their lives

In its continuous pursuit to highlight the value of education and culture, the Friends of Cultural Concerns of the Philippines (FCCP) special events committee headed by directors Minerva Tanseco and Martin Lopez recently brought joy to several children from the orphanage as they provided them with tickets to the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ enchanting presentation of The Magic Flute.
