Femme and fortune
Six of the country’s top designers came together for the very successful third installment of the Philippine Fashion Watch Quartet series. Presented by Metrobank Femme Visa, the well-attended fashion shows saw the transformation of the Makati Shangri-La Hotel lobby into the fashion runway for the works of Rajo Laurel, Dennis Lustico, Ito Curata, Lulu Tan Gan, Hindy Weber-Tantoco and Jun Escario.
Rajo Laurel kicked off the series with a showcase of geometrically inspired pieces on elegant cocktail dresses and evening gowns. Dennis Lustico followed with an impressive collection of feminine ensembles of straight form-fitting skirts, dresses, skinny pants and structured wrap blouses in extreme hues from bright yellow and olive to neutral fall colors of cream, champagne and black. Lulu Tan-Gan displayed her trademark knits ensemble with the versatility of her chosen material with pieces that ranged from simple casual wear and corporate looks right down to formal and evening wear. Hindy-Weber Tantoco took her audience to a nature trip with a flora and fauna-inspired show, highlighted by bulb-shaped silhouettes and evening wear with burnt ruffle edges. Concluding the series was the dazzling 1920s retro showcase of Jun Escario in mostly black and white with intricately detailed flapper dresses, laced pants and flowing long gowns.
As in the first two installments of the series, co-presenter Metrobank Femme Visa once again awarded five wonderful women for their outstanding fashion sense — Joanna Preysler, Kaye Tinga, Anna Palabyab-Rufino, Crickette Tantoco and Stephanie Zubiri were declared as Fashion Watch Femme.
A day of pampering
