Everything happens at GMA's new studios

True to its commitment of delivering superior entertainment and responsible news and information, the Kapuso Channel decided to further advance its network facilities through the construction of a new building as well as the acquisition of distinct, cutting-edge broadcast technology.

The newly erected GMA Network Studios is a four-story building, which houses two large studios and occupies an area of more than 3,600 square meters. Each of the studios, namely Studios 4 and 5, is furnished with its own dressing rooms and production areas especially dedicated for the artists and staff. Meanwhile, Studio 4 can accommodate at least 600 persons during live programs like SOP.

An estimated P1 billion was allotted for the over-all building construction and installation of the audio, lighting design and video design equipment. The studios are equipped with “Digital Speaker Management” and top of the line audio systems.

The studios are designed using Electronic Theater Control lighting dimmer, the world’s biggest manufacturer of dimmers and lighting consoles for broadcast, entertainment and architectural lighting. Likewise, the studios are digitally designed and are fully-equipped with the most modern video design gadgets. Specifically, Studio 4 is installed with the most powerful and flexible digital production switcher, a first in the history of Philippine television.

The memorable inauguration was attended by the country’s top officials in government led by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Vice President Noli de Castro.

Fabric presents Theodore’s

Regular Fabric habitués trooped to Embassy Fly for another installation of the much anticipated monthly fashion event. Taking center stage that night was Theodore’s, the newly launched fashion lifestyle store. Theodore’s the Store showcased 46 outfits from its select cult labels and street brands such as Energie, Rag & Bone, Alexandre Herchcovitch, Kova & T, Nom de Guerre, Goldspun, Script, PRPS, Onigashima and Maeno.

The models strutted down, making it easy enough to show that everything featured was available at the Bonifacio High Street boutique. They were all expertly dolled up by masters from Basement Salon and with flawless make up provided by MAC.

The store admittedly caters about 60 percent to men, but showcased also during the show were sexy mini-dresses, cat suits and flashy leggings mostly from Miss Sixty. Bags, belts, shoes and accessories from Common Projects, F by Friis, Yoko Devereaux, Old Stud Handmade, Shaoo and Tylie Malibu completed the stylish street vibe look.

In the upcoming months, fashion watchers have more to look forward to as Fabric has lined up many creative geniuses and talented local designers. Also, everyone gets a chance to win a short course from the School of Fashion and the Arts.
