A warm sojourn

A woman of generosity, elegance and achievement, Mely Hechanova, one of Manila’s most illustrious feminine figures, recently hosted a despedida lunch for socialite Nene Leonor. Held at Mely’s fabulous home in Forbes Park, the despedida was attended by close friends including philanthropist and multi-papal awardee Imelda Cojuangco, Dr. Loi Ejercito and Dr. Elenita Binay, who were on hand to bid Nene a happy and safe journey to the US for a much needed rest and relaxation.

Happy trip, Nene!

Of wine and pleasure

Just recently, an exclusive wine tasting event featuring European wine maker Señor Diego Urra, who flew in from Chile to share his wine expertise with the evening’s notable guests, was hosted by BMW Philippines, together with premium wine distributor Moët Hennessy. A delectable four-course dinner, meticulously prepared by Markus Gfeller and his team, was then served to the privileged invitees. They indulged in select wines from Casa Lapostolle, which included the Cuvee Alexander Chardonnay, Cuvee Alexander Merlot and the top quality Clos Apalta. It was a truly sensational evening of class and sophistication; qualities which are always guaranteed by BMW Philippines and Moët Hennessy.

Cheers!

Cinderella at Tosca

It was a truly enchanting evening at the Dusit Thani Manila’s Italian restaurant Tosca as Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella star Lea Salonga performed some songs from the musical play together with her Prince Charming played by Peter Saide; and Steve Gagliastro and Janna Cardia who played the King and Queen respectively. Guests enjoyed the special treat along with superb four-course dinner prepared by Italian chef Alessio Loddo. The superb management style of Gerhard Kropp and his team is really working!

A novel exploration

Dabbing confident brushstrokes and a perfect balance of dull and bright colors, painter Risa Recio paid tribute to the people and places that inspired her college years in New York through her recent second solo exhibit at LRI Design in Makati. Dubbed My Albion Muse, the 22-year-old artist proudly showcased several large oil and 10 smaller-scale paintings, which promises novel explorations in the field of abstraction. Attending the splendid affair were art aficionados, close friends and special guests including National Artist Bencab, National Artist Billy Abueva and Gigi Montinola.
