Dining on top of the world

The top business and leisure destination of choice, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, continues its tradition of excellence as it recently celebrated the grand opening of one of the most awaited and spectacular restaurants and bars this side of the Queen City of the South — Blu Bar and Grill. It is located at the top floor, which is 1,000 feet above sea level and offers not only the most delicious meats and seafoods but also spectacular views of the Cebu skyline, Mactan Channel and the majestic Nivel Hills. Asia Pacific Top Management chairman Alfred Ty and president Rey Villar as well as Marco Polo GM Hans Hauri were on hand to welcome the guests of honor including Metrobank chairman emeritus Dr. George S. K. Ty, Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña and China’s Nanjing City Mayor Hongkun Jiang, who came in together with 15 delegates. Congratulations to the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu for another exceptional event!

A tribute to the Savior

Talented product designer-turned-sculptor Daniel dela Cruz successfully mounted his second solo exhibit titled Parangal: A Tribute to Christ Our Savior, held recently at the third level lobby (Figaro Area) of the Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong City. The exhibit featured 26 metal artworks. Each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind and is painstakingly hand-carved and handcrafted from brass, copper and lead using the artist’s personally-developed techniques to create totally fresh details and forms. Parangal was presented by the La Salle Green Hills (L.S.G.H.) Batch ’84 Foundation for the year-long Golden Anniversary celebration of L.S.G.H. and the Silver Jubilee celebration of Batch ’84 in 2009. Guests of honor were renowned glass sculptor Ramon Orlina, Sen. Frank Drilon, Greenfield Development Corp. president Jeffrey Campos and Rizal Rep. Jack Duavit.  They were assisted by Daniel dela Cruz and his supportive wife Monica, who later went on a two-week European tour with her eldest son Diego and her amiable parents Monette and Boy Guevara.

Congratulations!
