Beauty, Bulgari & Belo
February 13, 2007 | 12:00am
The day was hectic but it was nevertheless a triple treat for Dr. Vicki Belo. She was first at Rustan’s newly opened Heaven on the 5th where she received an award for having performed the most number of Thermage (the most advanced non-surgical treatment for facial tightening) cases in 2006, besting over 2,000 other doctors from all over the world.
Then she proceeded to Old Manila at the Peninsula for a private sit down dinner organized by Bulgari’s Mario Katigbak. Robert Blancaflor prepared beautiful white floral arrangements that went well with the music of saxophonist Vince Lahorra.
The third event for the day was the Thermage victory party held at Nuvo in Greenbelt 3 organized by Louie Ysmael and corporate image maker/talent manager Joji Dingcong. Showbiz and society mingled over free flowing Moet & Chandon and hors d’oeuvres of goat cheese, lamb, foie gras and beef. Il Divo’s Sebastien Izambard and Carlos Marin, whom Vicki and Joji met the night before, were invited to the party and showed up straight from their sold out concert at the PICC. They both gamely posed for pictures with everyone. Cupcakes made by talented pastry chef Buddy Trinidad of Park Avenue Desserts were also passed around.
It was an obviously busy day for the celebrity doctor but all the events were fun and worth going to. Congratulations Vicki!
Eastwood City will be holding the fourth and so far the biggest Psychics’ Festival in time for the Chinese New Year on Feb. 18. The festival will feature over a dozen divination tools. Visitors can take their pick from Saiwala cards, the popular Tarot or the mystical Angel cards. They can also get a palm reading or handwriting analysis, have their auras read, opt for numerology or use Runes to uncover mysteries.
There was a preview for this festival wherein guests enjoyed readings from the psychics and feasted on great Chinese food from Shanghai Bistro. Megaworld’s Kevin Tan played host for that enjoyable night.
Other readings offered are dream interpretations, pendulum reading and astrology. Feng shui master Dr. Andy Tan will be available for consultations and will be giving mini seminars. The festival is from Feb. 17 to 23, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
