Jamming for a cause
January 4, 2007 | 12:00am
Its always a delight when people come together for a noble cause. The recent RJs Rock and Jam Against Cancer Concert at RJTV Bar in Jupiter St., Makati gathered overwhelming support from generous talents such as Philippine rock and roll icon RJ Jacinto, the multi-awarded top balladeer and composer Jose Mari Chan, acoustic musicians Pido and Paolo Santos, beautiful songstress Aliya Parcs, sexy comedienne and singer Giselle Sanchez, gifted flutist Jong Cuenco and the psychedelic rock group The Haneps. The all-star lineup for the evening had the venue jam-packed and filled with kind, caring and generous supporters such as the lovely 2006 Best Dressed awardee Eimee Cragun with husband Bryant, daughter Oshin and son John Bryant, the unbeatable Muebles Italiano couple Noel and the smashing Eileen Gonzales, lovely ladies Annie Ringor and Toni Gregory and a whole lot more. Sponsors like Rose Bosch Ong, Becky Sy, Solar Entertainments Wilson Tieng, cinema mogul Bobby Yang and HSBC represented by its VP for public affairs Tessa Cuenca and hubby Joey also pitched in for this very worthy cause. Of course, none of this would be possible without the efforts of two of my very stunning close friends, the statuesque Jojo Zabarte and the ivory beauty Frannie Jacinto, together with the superb organization done by the Jayelles team led by its president Roselle Rebano and COO Bong Palma-Gil.
It was a truly successful and wonderful evening! Way to go, ladies!
The elegant and astute businesswoman Gilda Salonga recently launched her store "Heelz Hobo" at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City. Guests of honor who joined at the ceremonial ribbon cutting were the hardworking Rep. Cynthia Villar, lovely TV personality Korina Sanchez and Gildas dapper son Edwin. Gildas husband Ronaldo, daughter Marion and son Wally were present to show their support. It was a very successful affair marked by glitz and glamour, as the guests ladies from high society were impressed with the elegant and unique heel styles that were abundant in the upscale store.

The Managament Association of the Philippines (MAP) recently held its First MAP Badminton Invitational. Dashing MAP vice president Franco del Rosario and the lovely Grace Tiongco, chair of the sub-committee on Badminton of the CEO Conference Committee, led the days opening and closing ceremonies. It was a day for competition, sportsmanship, but most importantly, camaraderie for everyone who participated in the tournament. The Smart and PLDT team wound up as the champions. Congratulations to MAP for a very successful sports event!
The Asian-cuisine restaurants in Dusit Hotel Nikko continue to be the destination for the more discriminating gourmets. Most popularly known for its delightful cuisine, ambiance and service, the Ben Kay Japanese restaurant uplifts the spirit through its beautiful rock garden and picturesque pond full of colorful fish, while feeding your body with the best Japanese food in the metro. Meanwhile at the Benjarong Royal Thai Restaurant, the stunning Grace Palma Tiongco was seen celebrating intimate dinner gathering with special friends. As usual, the excellent service and sumptuous cuisine impressed Graces guests. See you at the Dusit!
