Of operas and offerings

Two iconic figures in Manilas social and philanthropic circles, papal awardees Imelda Ongsiako-Cojuangco and Mely Concepcion-Hechanova, tendered a gala benefit dinner showcasing the inimitable creations of fashion designer Inno Sotto. These elegant ladies with big pockets and equally big hearts gave a superb gift to opera lovers by giving them the singular experience of listening to top opera singers from the Metropolitan Theater of New York: bass-baritone Joshua Winograde, mezzo-soprano Jennifer Hines, tenor Scott Piper, soprano Lea Woods Friedman and baritone Ryan Taylor.
Both the dazzling fashion show and the uplifting opera serenade left the audience breathless and enthralled. Everyones eyes were glued on Mely as tenor Scott Piper threw her a red rose at the height of one of his renditions. All the guests were awed by Innos marvelous handiwork and the artistry of the musical performers that only a standing ovation was enough to show their admiration. The A-listers in the crowd were also delighted to know that this concert-fashion show would also benefit the Virlanie Foundation Inc. and the Rotary Gift of Life International. Such kind works can only come from Manilas most charitable ladies, Meldy and Mely.
May you be showered with more of Gods blessings!
A peaceful and prosperous Philippines where people live in freedom and in harmony with one another and nature. Such is the vision of the Foundation for Peace and Prosperity in the Philippines (3P) and its president, Sultan Armando de Rossi. In these turbulent times, we tend to lose sight of what is important that is, to be men for others. The heroic efforts of Sultan Andy and his group remind us that we have the power to make a difference in peoples lives.
Sultan Andy and 3P members were responsible for the surrender of more than 200 rebels in Mindanao. Through this Italian engineers openhandedness and through help from the US government, the returnees can go back to their families and can be reintegrated into society to become responsible citizens. 3P has also undertaken other projects to help Filipinos in war-torn Mindanao, such as giving donations to hospitals, building schools and mosques and conducting medical missions. Today, the 3P Foundation now has a US Chapter also headed by Sultan Andy. Thanks to him and his benevolent friends for spreading hope and cheer to those most in need.
Keep it up, Sultan Andy!
