The birth of a new city

It was a majestic launching event of immense proportions – perhaps the biggest real estate event in years. At the South Forbes Golf City grand launch, the NBC Tent in Fort Bonifacio was transformed into a virtual garden landscape, complete with exotic greeneries, designer pebbles and rocks, and exquisite stone sculpture. Everyone got a glimpse of the marvelous ambience and design of the South Forbes units. Even the stage was magnificently executed as it had a gigantic golf ball in the center!

The event was graced by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who was warmly welcomed by visionary businessman Cathay Land chairman and Ambassador John KC Ng, the man behind the entire project, and his wife Olivia. The evening’s guest list was comprised of top businessmen and socialites.

After an informative and entertaining audio-visual presentation about South Forbes Golf City, Cathay Land president Jeffrey Ng gave a short, passionate speech about the project. He said the South Forbes Golf City, aptly called "The Amazing Place," is a fully-integrated community resort where the residents can work, play, go to school and live, all in just one place.

Cathay Land shared its blessings and good fortune with Gawad Kalinga as Tony Meloto accepted a P20-million check for its various projects. Grand production numbers followed, including a song inspired by South Forbes performed by the APO Hiking Society and several numbers rendered by divas Bituin Escalante, Frenchie Dy and Dulce with Robert Seña. The sumptuous and filling dishes catered by Astoria Plaza Suites were culinary delights that everyone eagerly sampled.

Congratulations to Jeff for sharing his vision with us and creating the perfect place to live in!
