The exhibit was announced in over 15 newspapers in Northern California and all over the Web. The opening night included society figures from San Francisco and Marin County, including actress Cloris Leachman.
Because of the success of the photo exhibit, Gutsy was asked to mount another exhibit in Sausalito next year. He will also have exhibitions in Santa Barbara, San Diego, Santa Monica and then off to Paris and London. Gutsy is represented exclusively by Double Davis in San Francisco owned by Ron Davis II and Mish Mari Davis. Gutsys latest coffee table book Bahura is available at Fully Booked, Powerbooks, Filipinas Heritage Library, Scuba World, A Different Bookstore, Tesoros, Silver Lens, Café del Sol Boracay and El Nido Resorts.
This was the first time all three halls of the PTTC were utilized for the party. It was also the first time over 5,000 people attended the event. Cream Tony Barton touted the Bigfish-Cream events as "one of the best Cream dance events in the world." The music took party goers dancing until five in the morning drinking ERG and Miller beer.
Spotted were Folded & Hung owners Ronald Pineda and Alan Vianson, designer Tonichi Nocom, architect Dan Lichauco, Junie Licaros, Karylle Padilla, Tals Diaz, Inaki and Kimmie Lamata, Norman and Astrud Crisologo, Pixie Cheah, Josa Primero, Nicole Santos, DJ Sanchez, Denise Albert, Lester Castillo and John Osmena Jr.
The hotels GM John Rice said, "The hotel fully supports the initiative of the FDCP and its goal of uplifting the cause of the Philippine fashion industry."
Under the direction of SAGAs Robby Carmona, the show started with a parade of the hottest styles in hair fashion, as presented by TIGI Catwalk. There were wide screens all around the ballroom as the models made their way across stage wearing next years fashion created by members of the FDCP headed by Randy Ortiz. Guests still enjoyed wine and canapés served by Edsa Shangri-La after the fashion show.
Others seen include Anton Barretto, Bernice Palanca-Go, Liza Ilarde, Joan Bitagcol, Raya Mananquil, Nono Palmos, IBMs Wilson Go and Albert Martinez.
The display was put together by designer Rachy Cuna, inspired by owner Alice Cruzs concept of Borders having a Christmas store within the store where shoppers can immediately see everything and easily decide what they want.
Seen at the scene were Lorna Laurel, Marie and Butch Schnabel, Bing and Maurito Blardony, Marvi Sala, Gianna Montinola, Annie Young and Patrice Tan.
