Shu Uemura launched its Autumn/Winter Mode makeup collection in an event called Masquerade. Since Mode makeup was first launched in the 60s, Shu Uemura has gone beyond offering just the latest makeup trend by expressing thought and philosophy while bringing together creativity and natural beauty. This years collection is Shu Uemuras 121st collection.
Shu Uemura partnered with ultimate luxury providers Smart Infinity and Nokia and transformed Cafe Maestros upper deck into a Venetian Masquerade Lounge adorned with feathers, masks and pearls.
Guests were spoiled with Italian fare and bottomless drinks from Baileys and Smirnoff Vodka. The highlight of the event was the live makeup demonstration by Shu Uemura international makeup artist Hirofumi Kouno who was flown in all the way from Japan. Kouno captivated the audience by creating the Masquerade looks on two models to the tune of a classical music. After the makeup session, the Masquerade Glamour Bar was unveiled where guests had their evening look created for them by the Shu Uemura beauty stylist team.
Each guest received feather lashes and crystals to adorn their eyes. Nailspa therapists also treated everyone to hand massages and crystal nail art. Everyone present took home jeweled velvet cuffs and chokers, rhinestone cell phone charms from Nokia, their Masquerade photograph taken by Kodak and skin care travel kits.
Present were Shu Uemura business unit manager Tina Tinio along with Shu Uemura team members Tessa Dragon, Xeng Zulueta, Jigs Mayuga and Dione Cotoco together with Smart Infinitys Tom Valderrama, Giselle Sia and Nokias Cristina Trinidad. Also seen enjoying were Y Styles Celine Lopez, Hindy Weber-Tantoco, Mia Borromeo, Savannah Lumen, jewelry designer Ciara Marasigan, Astrud Crisologo, MTVs Anne Matoto, Louis Vuittons Rhea de Vera, PLDTs David Nugent, Patrick Reyno, Jacques Dupasquier, Allures Philip Cu-Unjieng, Domini Primero, brothers John and Marcel Crespo and Kodaks Steve Tambunting.
The Masquerade Mode makeup collection is now available at the Shu Uemura counters in Rustans Makati and Shangri-La Plaza Mall.
Evo, the fastest growing international car magazine is now in Asia. It is the premiere automotive enthusiast magazine which was launched in Britain in 1998. The Philippine edition of the magazine is the first in Asia and is the only English version outside the United Kingdom.
The magazine is produced by the people behind C! who share a passion for cars. Kevin Limjoco leads the editorial team with Jose Mari Ugarte as his executive editor. The event kicked off with a gathering of 40 flagship automobiles from each car manufacturer displayed at the parking lot fronting Rustans Makati.
All proceeds from the Evo Philippines mini car show were donated to the Don Bosco Pugad Foundation in the name of each participating car manufacturer. Cocktails followed at the expansion area of the mens floor of Rustans where BMW motorbikes were on display.
A Robbie Carmona-directed fashion show followed showing the latest mens trends from Ermenegildo Zegna, Alfred Dunhill, Marcs, Morrisey, Kenzo, Rykiel Homme, Tumi, Rustans private labels Rustan Black Label Homme and Salt.
Others seen at the launch were Joel Tantoco, Tamara de Guzman, Celine Novenario, Leah Puyat, Anton Barretto, Mariko Jacinto, Cristina Villanueva, Alan Escaño and Paolo Martel.
Cream Silk went to great lengths recently to announce this years schedule and objectives of the annual Hair Makeover Mission. Under an air-conditioned tent in Rockwell, an ELIDA Hair Institute (Cream Silks research and development arm in Paris) set-up was created to allow guests to experience hair analysis, conditioning and styling to prove that conditioning with any of Cream Silks six variants is what different hair types need to achieve soft, smooth and manageable hair.
The ladies received a full hair pampering experience. They also had hair analysis through a hairscope, a device which magnifies hair strands and the scalp to reveal its condition. Guest dermatologist Isa Villarama-Cellona was on hand to explain the reason for hair concerns such as dandruff, tangled and ruffled hair, dry or oily hair. She added that genetics has something to do with hair types and most especially, hair care.
Also present were Cream Silk endorsers Amanda Griffin, Heart Evangelista, Bea Alonzo and Shaina Magdayao. The Cream Silk Hair Makeover Mission will be traveling to various cities to educate women on the importance of conditioning after shampoo.
