Style abloom

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -
Fashion empresses and social luminaries converged in a very exclusive high tea party to launch Abloom, the holiday collection of style icon Criselda Lontok. An afternoon of class and elegance was had by all as flirty silk dresses, floral blouses, embroidered tops, hand-painted silks and beaded creations in bright and classic colors were modeled by Criselda’s dear friends. Seen enjoying the event were Rustan’s patriarch Ambassador Bienvenido Tantoco Sr. with Marilen Tantoco and Eddie and Marilou Pineda. The grand lady, Imelda Romualdez-Marcos together with noted philanthropist and fashion plate Imelda Ongsiako- Cojuangco graced the event with class and panache, along with many of Manila’s most stylish women.

Stay fabulous, ladies!
’50s Frenzy
Congratulations to the Catholic Women’s Club (CWC), led by its president Alice Briones and special event committee chairperson Imelda Ongsiako- Cojuangco, for the highly-victorious annual ball dinner dance, The Golden Decade of the ’50s, held recently at the Peninsula Manila’s grand ballroom. Attendees from the diplomatic, business and social circles came in droves to party, as well as to raise funds for Fr. Rocky Evangelista’s Tuloy Don Bosco Streetchildren’s Village in Alabang.

Among those who were spotted enjoying the party were HSBC CEO Warner Manning; Philippine Tatler’s Irene Francisco; Spanish Ambassador Ignacio Sagaz and wife Aurora. The much-awaited annual event featured numbers not only from seasoned performers, but from CWC members as well. It was one of the best I have attended in a very long time!

See you at next year’s dinner dance!
An Afternoon At The Races
The dapper German Ambassador Herbert Jess and his elegant wife Micheline, who left for their new posting in Kuala Lumpur, were given a unique and memorable despedida, an exciting afternoon at the San Lazaro racetrack! The Jesses, along with the members of the diplomatic and consular communities who attended the affair, were pleasantly surprised at the wide-open spaces, expansive views, and fresh air at the San Lazaro racetrack’s new location in Carmona, Cavite.

The affair was hosted by charming gentlemen Dean Vicente Carlos of the Consular Corps of the Philippines and lawyer Alfonso Reyno Jr., chairman and CEO of the Manila Jockey Club, Inc. The guests enjoyed a wide array of sumptuous dishes from the Westin Philippine Plaza inside one of the rooms of the air-conditioned Turf Club building.

Farewell, Herbert and Micheline! Do come and visit us again sometime!
