Since it was introduced by Philips Consumer Electronics (PCE), dahlings, the fabi Pixel Plus has been creating tidal waves around the world.

Europe’s number one consumer electronics company, palanggas, recently hosted an intimate yet super fun lunch for a select group of high-profile personas to demonstrate just how revolutionary the new Philips Pixel Plus TV is.

The chic affair, palanggas, held at Greenbelt 2’s Soleil Cafe Moderne drew Cosmo Manille namedroppables led by brilliant PCE GM Angelo Valenton; Bvlgari’s Mario Katigbak; Louis Vuitton’s Gigi Mabanta; ABS-CBN Publishing’s workasonic Ernie Lopez; SM’s vibrant Millie Dizon; gent of all seasons, IPAC’s Raul Manzano; Lito Cruz of one of moi favorite TV channels, E! Entertainment Philippines, natch!; RMN’s Butch Canoy; ace photographer Alex Van Hagen; Dish’s Philip Cu-Unjieng; Bergamo’s Mel Meer; fashionable columnist, Mons Tantoco; vivacious entrepreneur and writer, Leah Puyat; famed fashion designer Efren Ocampo; and TV’s hot, hot love team and hosts, handsome Julius Babao and eye-catching Christine Bersola.

The new Pixel Plus, palanggas, has been praised for setting a new standard in TV viewing. It marks another milestone from Philips which has always been a pioneer in developing new technology for TV. Apres the superbly prepared lunch, Angelo Valenton explained to us, "Our place as a major industry leader comes not just by bringing our consumers top quality products, but also making sure we improve on the consumers’ changing needs and lifestyles."

The event, which Philips called Dare to Compare, gave all the invitees the chance to see for ourselves just how amazing the new Philips Pixel Plus TV is. Philips’ Singapore-based marketing consultant for color televisions, Mr. Charmer himself, tall and dashing Michael Chang demonstrated the capability of the new Pixel Plus TV by comparing its performance with the top-end products of competing brands. As three monitors played the same footage from one DVD player, we were all amazed to see how Pixel Plus gives outstanding picture quality and the most distinct details. "What the Pixel Plus achieves is no less than a resolution revolution, providing images of incredible sharpness, natural details and motion smoothness never seen before on conventional TVs," explained Michael Chang.

Its performance was so impressive, all we heard were high praises for the Philips Pixel Plus. "The Pixel Plus is really amazing," observed Julius Babao. "And it’s so much better than my TV at home." Christine Bersola agreed. "The pictures are definitely brighter and clearer," she said.

"I just love the minimalist design," Gigi Mabanta remarked, "It’s very stylish. I have no second thoughts about buying this new TV!" Designer Efren Ocampo summed up the accolades by saying, "I’d love to take that TV home!" As for moi, all I could say was, "The performance is absolutely remarkable, I’m sold on it."

The special lunch get-together proved to be a successful kick-off for the Philips Pixel Plus’ Dare to Compare Road Tour. The Pixel Plus TV is set to make the rounds of the top malls in the metropolis to let consumers experience first-hand the amazing performance of this innovative TV.

Breakfast in Manila, dinner in Europe
Love is in the air for honeymooners, soulmates, couples, or traveling pairs, dahlings.

A reorganized Friends of the Met
A tres special luncheon, dahlings, was held at the Galeriya ng Bangko Sentral of the Metropolitan Museum of Manille by the Museum’s Ways and Means Committee. Committee members, Bea Zobel Jr.; Karen Santos; Raul Manzano; and Chiqui Locsin spearheaded the event. This energetic pack of dedicated personas gathered about 50 of Cosmo Manille’s top art patrons to invite them to join the reorganized Friends of the Met.

As expected from this lunch bunch that truly cares for the arts, almost all those present signed up right there and then apres the light, yummy lunch.

By joining, palanggas, you’ll have many super privileges being a friend of our country’s top art museum. Included are invitations to fascinating exhibit openings, lectures and terrific concerts. This will involve the young handsome Mayor of Tayabas, Dondi Silang, no less, who has taken a keen interest in this project. Among the things planned for this exhibit are relaxing activities and a "wellness workshop" covering meditation, herbal medicine and massage.

It’s great to know that things have finally livened up at the Met with this gang of four – Bea, Karen, Raul and Chiqui – and that Southern gent at the helm of it all, Ino Manalo, the workasonic director of the Metropolitan Museum, no less. These cultural enthusiasts have become more involved with the museum since they see how the arts have much to contribute to our national development.
