HAVANA, Cuba — French dog training experts teach Cuban Springer-Spaniels how to detect money hidden in vehicles in downtown Havana as the Caribbean country reinforces its fight against money laundering, often associated with drug trafficking.
"The smell may differ: for example, 5 euro banknotes will smell much stronger than 500 euro banknotes but the dog must be able to find all the denominations, so that's why we're working on all the denominations, we're not only going to work on 5 euros banknotes, which will be a little easier," David Berceau, French Canine Police expert said.
