Sleepy, soft and oh-so-relaxing: Over 100 cats in Lima's central park

Agence France-Presse

LIMA, Peru — Over a hundred cats have made Lima's Kennedy Park their home, with local feline lovers and volunteers taking time to take care of the furry creatures.

They command an army of local volunteers who bring them plate after plate of offerings.

"The cats are part of the Miraflores (neighbourhood, ed), no matter who it bothers, that's the way it is, the tourists love the cats, everyone sits to read their magazines, book, they read with the cat on their lap because it is relaxing, because the cats are anti-stress. In Europe and in the United States (this is common, ed) but the passion for cats has only recently arrived in Peru."
