SHANGHAI, China — Virtual reality (VR) gaming arcades are springing up across China attracting new gamers in a test of whether the expensive technology can go mainstream.
China had an estimated 3,000 VR arcades in 2016, and the market is forecast to grow 13-fold from 2016-2021 to amount to 782 million USD, according to a joint report by iResearch Consulting Group and Greenlight Insights.
