WATCH: DOT honors Catriona Gray’s efforts to promote tourism

MANILA, Philippines— The Department of Tourism on Tuesday recognized the efforts of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray in promoting Philippine tourism.

Gray paid a courtesy call on Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat on Tuesday afternoon.

This was after she paid courtesy calls on Vice President Leni Robredo and the Senate of the Philippines.

Puyat thanked Gray for promoting Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Gray earlier released three tourism videos to promote the three regions of the Philippines.

“You have made our country proud and because of your becoming Miss Universe, the Philippines is now known not only—well now there's awareness all over the world and you will help us make it ‘it's more fun in the Philippines,’” Puyat said.

The DOT chief also gave Gray a Filipino-made tumbler showing the advocacy of the agency which is sustainable tourism as a gift. The Bicolana beauty was also given a bucket list book showing all the beautiful tourist destinations in the country.

Gray is currently in the country for her grand homecoming. She is the fourth Filipina Miss Universe.
