Zarate says Makabayan bloc won't back Speaker Arroyo

MANILA, Philippines — Rep. Carlos Zarate (Bayan Muna party-list) said the Makabayan bloc would not support former president and now House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo whose “record of human rights is also foul.”

In an interview after President Rodrigo Duterte’s third State of the Nation Address, he said the Makabayan bloc would never forget Arroyo’s crimes where more than a thousand people—including his co-Bayan Muna members—were allegedly killed under the former president.
