MANILA, Philippines —The biggest business and state leaders gathered at the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations Business and Investment Summit 2017 last month to discuss business and investment opportunities, trade issues and the directions of the Southeast Asian bloc.
Among the state leaders who graced the three-day conference held last November 12 to 14 were Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, South Korean President Moon Jae-In, former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Vice President Leni Robredo, among others.
Business leaders also attended the event to join the collective conversations about trade issues, innovation, trendsetting and other concerns among the ASEAN Economic Community.
ABIS aims to “further the interest of achieving the goals of the ASEAN Economic Community 2025” through collaborative efforts and joint collective discussions. This year’s theme is “World Leaders’ Roadmap Towards Prosperity for All.”
President Rodrigo Duterte attended the launch of the ASEAN Mentorship For Entrepreneurs Network. It is “the public partnership platform where mentors and world-class teaching modules for micro, small and medium enterprise empowerment can be developed and actively shared among ASEAN members states.”
