MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte wants expansive military camps to be available as alternative rehabilitation centers for drug abusers.

In an address to local executives on Thursday, Duterte said the movement of drug abusers have to be restricted.

Duterte has spearheaded a war on drugs launched by the police and military targeting suspects in the illegal drug trade. Human rights activitists, however, attribute the spate of extrajudicial killings to the crackdown on criminality. — report by Efigenio Toledo IV
