MANILA, Philippines – With less than 20 days left to his term, President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III on Sunday delivered his final Independence Day Vin d’Honneur address and toast as the country's chief executive.
In one of his last speeches before stepping down, Aquino urged Filipinos to keep an eye on Philippine freedom and protect it citing its importance earned by heroes and martyrs of the past.
The outgoing president also proposed a toast to the members of his Cabinet and diplomats from various countries, whom he called friends of the Philippines, at the Rizal Hall in Malacañang Palace.
