WATCH: Philippines, US Marines train with 81mm mortar
In this video, Marines of the Philippines and the United States train with 81mm mortars for Balikatan US-Philippines bilateral exercises on Wednesday.
US Marine Cpl. Dustin Hilgar also explains training and interaction between forces of the two countries for the annual war games. Clips of the mortar training are also shown.
Hilgar is a squad leader with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force under the unit deployment program.
Balikatan provides an opportunity for US and Philippine service members to work "shoulder-to-shoulder" and hone their combined readiness to crises and conflict across the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
