WATCH: EU ambassador explains support for Mindanao peace process

MANILA, Philippines – European Union Ambassador to the Philippines Franz Jessen on Wednesday enumerated the reasons why EU is supporting the Mindanao peace process.

Jessen earlier promised a P275-million grant for the Bangsamoro peace process saying that EU prioritizes human rights and economic interest.

The EU ambassador said that the EU wants to enhance their economic presence in the country and focus on the manufacturing sector.

“Right now when you compare the Philippines to other countries in the region, you will see that the manufacturing sector is underrepresented. You do not have investments into the manufacturing sector in the Philippines,” Jessen said.
