MANILA, Philippines — The rising cases of alleged bullet-planting or "tanim-bala" incidents stroke fear in passengers and tourists transiting through the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila.
“Hindi nga ako nakatulog ngayon, paano na lang 'yung mga gamit kapag nilagyan ng mga (bala)?” Filipino immigrant from Japan Rubi Saito told Philstar.com.
Alleged victims of the extortion scheme were found to have bullets inside their luggage, prompting airport officials to apprehend them or take them in for questioning.
