MANILA, Philippines — After a hiatus of more than 10 years from show business, Marjorie Barretto returns to the limelight.
The actress is part of TV5's upcoming TV show "My Fair Lady," a local adaptation of the Korean drama of the same name.
Asked why she accepted the offer to be part of the show, Marjorie said: "The timing was perfect for me." She spent time taking care of her her children, including young actress Julia Barretto.
"Ngayong 'di na alagain ang mga bata, medyo nainip na rin ako. I want to do something again. It was perfect timing," she added.
"My Fair Lady" will premiere on TV5 on Monday, September 14.
Coincidentally, her sister Claudine is also making a showbiz comeback this year after being inactive in the industry for a couple of years. The younger Barretto is part of the upcoming Star Cinema movie "Etiquette for Mistresses."
“And I’m genuinely happy for Claudine," Marjorie said. “Her spirit is very high at talaga namang what a waste kung hindi siya magbalik sa industriya.”
The two Barretto sisters reconciled earlier this year after a years-long rift.
Marjorie said Claudine has been "very supportive" of her own showbiz comeback.
