Video of the Day: Australian surfs on a dead whale surrounded with sharks

Alixandra Caole Vila - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Onlookers were surprised when the 26-year-old Australian jumped off his boat and went atop of a giant whale floating on the ocean near Rottnest Island off Western Australia.

The thrill-seeker, identified as Harrison William did not seem to care about the sharks surrounding the whale carcass. While he enjoyed sitting and surfing on the whale, animal support groups and his parents were clearly not impressed. He later went to defend himself saying that he launched himself into the water and climbed onto the whale because he thinks the whale was in distress.

Meanwhile, no one could tell whether how the whale died. Reports said that the whale has been floating in the ocean for several weeks now while tiger sharks and other ocean creatures are feasting on it.
