MANILA, Philippines – We live in a generation where everyone seems to be in a hurry. While drive-thrus in fast food chains and coffee shops may sound just right, a drive-thru funeral sounds quite odd.
Believe it or not, you may now see your dead friend via drive-thru. A Michigan funeral home started offering an untraditional service: a drive-thru open casket viewing.
While this is more bizarre than the digital viewing from a large screen, this unusual trend offers convenience and practicality for the people, especially those who do not have the physical ability to get out of the car and walk to the casket (meaning, the seniors).
According to an AP report, curtains covering the window open when sensors underneath the pavement recognize the presence of a car. Mourners then get three minutes to view the body as music plays.
